Service Manager (1978 – Charlotte, North Carolina)

Drucker and Falk is seeking a Service Manager to lead maintenance and operations at our Paw Creek community in Mecklenburg County, North Carolina. In this full-time position, you'll oversee the physical care and infrastructure of the property while supervising a maintenance team and reporting to the Property Manager.

About the Role

As Service Manager, you are the backbone of our community's operational excellence. You'll manage the day-to-day maintenance of all facilities, systems, and grounds, ensuring everything runs smoothly and safely. This role combines hands-on technical expertise with leadership responsibility, requiring both mechanical knowledge and team management skills.

What You'll Do

• Oversee the maintenance and operation of all mechanical equipment, HVAC systems, and building infrastructure
• Supervise and coordinate the maintenance staff, assigning work, monitoring performance, and ensuring quality standards are met
• Plan and execute preventive maintenance schedules to reduce costly emergency repairs and downtime
• Respond to and resolve maintenance requests from residents and staff in a timely, professional manner
• Maintain detailed records of maintenance activities, equipment service histories, and inventory
• Monitor budgets for maintenance supplies and equipment, controlling costs while maintaining standards
• Ensure compliance with all applicable safety codes and regulations
• Conduct regular property inspections to identify and address maintenance needs proactively

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience as a Service Manager, Maintenance Superintendent, or similar supervisory maintenance role
• Strong mechanical and technical knowledge of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and general building systems
• Demonstrated ability to lead, train, and manage a maintenance team effectively
• Excellent organizational and problem-solving skills with attention to detail
• Valid driver's license and reliable transportation
• Ability to work independently, prioritize multiple tasks, and respond to emergencies as needed
• Professional communication skills and a commitment to customer service excellence
