About the Role
Unit 7A oncology nurses deliver evidence-based care to patients across the cancer treatment spectrum. You'll apply your clinical knowledge to assess patient conditions, coordinate complex treatments, and provide emotional support to patients and families navigating serious medical journeys.
What You'll Do
- Develop and implement individualized care plans addressing each patient's medical, emotional, and social needs
- Assess patient status, administer medications and treatments, and monitor responses to therapy
- Partner with physicians, oncologists, social workers, and care team members to deliver coordinated, multidisciplinary care
- Safeguard patient confidentiality and uphold patient rights in all clinical interactions
- Educate patients and families about cancer treatments, expected side effects, and coping strategies
- Evaluate the quality and effectiveness of care delivered by the care team
- Maintain accurate clinical documentation in the patient health record
What We're Looking For
- Registered Nurse (RN) license or current status as a Graduate Nurse pursuing RN certification
- Empathy, strong communication skills, and ability to connect with patients and families in sensitive situations
- Proven ability to manage multiple patient assignments in a fast-paced acute-care hospital setting
- Dedication to professional nursing standards and compassionate, patient-centered care
- Oncology nursing experience preferred but not required—we welcome nurses new to oncology
