About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defense technology organization based in Berlin. They are building autonomous systems to counter emerging aerial threats across Europe, and they need a working student to support their communications, social media, and marketing efforts.

This is a hands-on role where you'll manage public-facing content that reaches journalists, government officials, investors, and industry observers. You'll work approximately 20 hours per week during the semester for a minimum of six months, with the potential to extend.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day LinkedIn activity: draft and schedule posts, maintain the editorial calendar, monitor and respond to comments, and ensure consistent voice across all publications
  • Transform technical material from testing, production, and events into publishable content including short-form video, photography, and graphics aligned with brand guidelines
  • Track media coverage of the organization, competitors, and the broader defense policy landscape; prepare clippings and analysis for the team
  • Support press relations including maintaining journalist contact lists, preparing briefings and one-pagers, and coordinating interviews and media inquiries
  • Assist with trade fair, conference, and stakeholder event presence in Munich, Berlin, and Brussels—from advance content preparation to live coverage
  • Help produce and maintain marketing collateral including website copy, newsletters, media kits, and campaign materials
  • Report on channel performance, identify what's working, and propose new approaches

What We're Looking For

  • Currently enrolled in a Bachelor's or Master's program in Communications, Media, Marketing, Journalism, Political Science, International Relations, or a related field
  • Demonstrable social media experience—you've managed channels yourself and can show us the work, not just describe it
  • Excellent writing skills: you produce clean, publishable copy that needs editing, not rewriting
  • Business-fluent German and English, both written and spoken
  • Strong editorial judgment and discretion: you understand that in defense and politics, a single careless post can become a company-wide issue
  • Genuine interest in security and defense policy and the political debate around European sovereignty
  • Proficiency with content and design tools such as Canva, Figma, Adobe Creative Cloud, LinkedIn analytics, scheduling platforms, and video editing software
  • Availability of approximately 20 hours per week during the semester, on-site in Berlin, for a minimum of six months
  • Valid work permit for Germany (visa sponsorship is not available)
