About the Role

We're seeking an experienced RN with a psychiatric nursing background to fill an immediate need in Grand Rapids, Kent County. You'll work 5x8 evening shifts beginning September 8, 2025, providing direct patient care in a dynamic mental health care setting. This temporary assignment runs through early December 2025.

What You'll Do

• Deliver evidence-based nursing care to psychiatric patients in an inpatient or residential treatment setting
• Assess patient mental and physical health status, monitor vital signs, and document clinical observations
• Administer medications under physician direction and monitor patient response and side effects
• Collaborate with psychiatrists, therapists, counselors, and interdisciplinary team members
• Develop and implement individualized patient care plans aligned with treatment goals
• Maintain accurate, timely medical records and ensure HIPAA compliance
• Support patients in crisis situations with compassionate, professional intervention

What We're Looking For

• Current RN license in good standing (Michigan)
• Proven experience in psychiatric or behavioral health nursing
• Ability to manage complex patient populations with mental health and substance use disorder backgrounds
• Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Flexibility to work evening shift hours in a fast-paced environment
• Valid passport (required for travel nurse position)
• Professional liability insurance (strongly encouraged)
