Transition Operations Director

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential global media organization seeking a Transition Operations Director to join their London team. This is a business-critical leadership role responsible for orchestrating the seamless onboarding of new clients and setting the foundation for long-term growth and partnership success.

Our client operates at the intersection of media, data, and technology, serving some of the world's leading brands. This role offers the unique opportunity to shape the most important new client relationships from day one, ensuring operational excellence and immediate value delivery.

Responsibilities

• Develop and own end-to-end transition strategy and detailed programme plans for new clients, defining scope, timelines, milestones, and key deliverables
• Lead flawless execution of transition plans, coordinating across multiple markets and internal functions including client leadership, finance, legal, HR, and technology
• Serve as the primary senior point of contact for client executives and internal leadership throughout transitions, ensuring clear communication and managing expectations
• Design and implement change management strategies to ensure smooth adoption of new processes, tools, and team structures
• Proactively identify, assess, and mitigate risks associated with client transitions, developing contingency plans to ensure professional onboarding experiences
• Build, manage, and mentor high-performing transition teams, fostering a culture of excellence, collaboration, and accountability in a matrix environment
• Work across wider network partners to deliver integrated solutions when required

What We're Looking For

Essential Skills and Experience:

• Extensive proven track record in senior transition, programme management, or project management roles within large-scale media agencies, consultancies, or other complex global organizations
• Demonstrable success leading complex, multi-market transitions for large global clients or complex multi-market projects
• Deep expertise in project, programme, and change management methodologies (e.g., PMP, PRINCE2)
• Exceptional senior stakeholder management and communication skills with proven ability to influence and build consensus with executive-level leaders
• Strong commercial and financial acumen with experience managing complex project budgets and ensuring profitability
• Inspirational leadership skills with experience building and developing high-performing teams
• Strategic and commercially-minded approach with ability to navigate ambiguity and solve complex problems with clarity and confidence
• Familiarity with leveraging AI tools and AI-powered support for project management and tracking

Preferred:

• Significant prior experience within an agency group active in multi-market environments

Location and Working Arrangements: This role is based in London with a hybrid working model (approximately four days per week in office). Candidates must have the right to work in the UK.
