You will serve as a trusted guide who carries ancestral teachings, supports community learning, and helps ensure traditional practices remain vibrant and accessible for current and future generations. The full-time position calls for someone grounded in community protocols who can share knowledge with respect, clarity, and care while collaborating with colleagues and local partners.

Your Responsibilities

• Facilitate teachings, stories, and land-based learning experiences that honour traditional ways of knowing
• Mentor youth, families, and community members in cultural practices, language elements, and protocols
• Advise internal teams and partners so programs and gatherings remain culturally grounded and respectful
• Support intergenerational knowledge exchange through workshops, circles, and community events
• Help document and revitalize oral histories and traditional practices while observing proper community protocols
• Build respectful relationships with Elders, knowledge keepers, and local organizations in the Little Current area

Who We're Looking For

• Recognized lived experience and community standing as a Traditional Knowledge Carrier or equivalent cultural role
• Deep familiarity with traditional teachings, cultural protocols, and seasonal or land-based practices relevant to the region
• Strong ability to communicate complex cultural knowledge clearly and respectfully to diverse audiences
• Collaborative mindset and commitment to working alongside colleagues, youth, and community partners
• Dedication to cultural safety, confidentiality of sacred knowledge, and intergenerational transmission
• Willingness to work in person from Little Current, ON in a full-time capacity
