Teamleiter Accounting (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential healthcare organization seeking a Team Leader for Accounting based in Düsseldorf. In this role, you will carry both operational and leadership responsibilities:

• Independent management of accounting operations for a defined portfolio of legal entities
• Ensure timely and accurate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial closings according to HGB standards
• Review and approve ongoing business transactions, account reconciliations, and payment runs
• Prepare and support VAT pre-registrations and other tax compliance obligations
• Serve as primary contact for auditors, tax advisors, and external partners
• Provide technical leadership and development for a small accounting team
• Onboard new team members and ensure quality of deliverables across the team
• Act as first point of contact for technical questions and foster knowledge sharing
• Collaborate closely with senior leadership on process improvements and standardization
• Actively participate in optimizing accounting workflows and system usage
• Support integration of new entities into existing processes and systems

What We're Looking For

Professional Qualifications:

• Completed commercial training, ideally as a tax specialist, certified accountant, or comparable qualification
• Several years of professional experience in HGB accounting, ideally in client service, including confident preparation of monthly and annual financial statements
• Initial experience in technical leadership or mentoring colleagues (e.g., as team leader or senior responsible for junior staff)
• Proficient use of DATEV and/or Microsoft Dynamics 365 Business Central
• German language skills at C1 level or higher
