Head of Product (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a fast-growing beauty brand in the DACH region, and we're searching for an experienced Head of Product to lead their product function through the next phase of European and international expansion.

Reporting directly to the CEO, you will own the performance and strategic direction of the entire product portfolio across multiple categories. Your remit includes:

• Developing a clear 1–5 year product strategy and translating it into a prioritized roadmap based on customer value, business impact, and available resources
• Systematically scouting beauty and nail trends to identify which formats, designs, and innovations should shape the portfolio
• Owning qualitative and commercial performance across all product lines, ensuring every SKU is market-ready and commercially viable in collaboration with retail and e-commerce teams
• Managing the full product lifecycle from concept to launch, continuously evolving the assortment
• Monitoring revenue, margin, and growth metrics to inform data-driven prioritization decisions
• Coordinating regulatory requirements (product safety, labeling, compliance) in partnership with the QA and regulatory team, ensuring timely execution within the product roadmap
• Leading and developing a product team of 6+ people in Cologne: setting direction, building capability, and fostering a high-performance culture
• Scaling the team so that each category can operate autonomously as the business grows

What We're Looking For

Must-haves:

• At least 5 years of product management experience in the beauty industry, ideally including 2+ years in a leadership role
• Proven track record of taking products from concept through to successful launch with full ownership
• Strong formulation knowledge: familiarity with INCI, active ingredients, and compatibility considerations
• Excellent product and trend intuition combined with deep customer empathy (customer-first mindset)
• Structured, data-driven decision-making paired with strategic vision and a hands-on mentality
• Strong communication skills for cross-functional collaboration and external partnerships (labs, manufacturers, fragrance houses)
• Based in or around Cologne with the ability to be on-site regularly with the team

Nice-to-have:

• Confidence navigating the regulatory environment (EU Cosmetics Regulation, claims substantiation, compliance frameworks)
