About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential social science research organization in Mannheim, Germany. We are seeking a Student Research Assistant to join their microdata team starting October 1, 2026. This is a 36-hour-per-week fixed-term position ideal for a Bachelor's or Master's student in the social sciences who wants hands-on experience with large-scale survey data and statistical analysis.

Responsibilities

• Assist with the preparation and documentation of European Labour Force Survey data
• Conduct literature reviews and summarize research findings
• Support ongoing research activities within the microdata team
• Contribute to data quality assurance and documentation processes

What We're Looking For

• Currently enrolled in a social science Bachelor's or ideally Master's program
• Strong proficiency in R, Stata, or another statistical software package
• Prior experience with data preparation and analysis
• Very careful, reliable, and self-directed working style
• Excellent German language skills and good English proficiency
• Interest in a longer-term employment arrangement
• Demonstrated interest in empirical social research and official statistics
