About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential hospitality organization in Berlin that is seeking a Controller/Accountant to join their finance team. This role offers a comprehensive blend of accounting and controlling responsibilities across multiple entities, managing approximately 150,000 annual transactions. You'll work closely with internal stakeholders and external partners to ensure accurate financial reporting and provide strategic insights for business decisions.

Responsibilities

• Manage day-to-day financial accounting including accounts receivable, accounts payable, and fixed asset accounting
• Review, code, and post incoming and outgoing invoices with meticulous attention to detail
• Perform intercompany reconciliations and settlements between multiple entities
• Administer payment transactions and cash management processes
• Actively support annual financial statement preparation according to HGB standards (balance sheet, P&L, cash flow)
• Maintain and execute monthly reporting including commentary on financial statements
• Analyze budget variances and derive actionable business recommendations
• Prepare budgets, forecasts, reports, and liquidity forecasts for internal and external stakeholders
• Coordinate with tax advisors, auditors, and financial authorities

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Solid professional experience in accounting (accounts receivable, payable, fixed assets, intercompany), ideally in a multi-entity environment or a position with broad independent responsibility
• Experience in detailed invoice review and coding, plus solid understanding of HGB financial statements, ideally with experience supporting annual closings
• Controlling competency: ability to derive KPIs, forecasts, and business measures from financial data
• Proficient use of DATEV (required) and advanced Excel skills
• Quick comprehension, high degree of independence, and strong attention to detail
• Business-fluent German and English (written and spoken)

Nice to have:

• Experience with BI tools and building reporting structures from the ground up
• Background in hospitality, real estate, or multi-entity environments
• Interest in automation and process optimization (API interfaces, booking automation)
