Staff Veterinarian

Prestage is seeking a Staff Veterinarian to join our team in Ames, Iowa. This is a full-time position for a licensed veterinarian committed to animal health and operational excellence.

Position Summary

As a Staff Veterinarian at Prestage, you will deliver veterinary care and oversight that directly supports the health and welfare of our animal populations. You'll work collaboratively with our operations team to develop and implement health protocols, provide clinical expertise, and ensure compliance with veterinary standards and regulations. Your role is essential to maintaining the highest standards of animal care across our operations.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health assessments and clinical examinations of animals
• Diagnose and treat animal health conditions and diseases
• Develop and oversee herd or flock health management programs
• Prescribe medications and therapeutic treatments
• Perform surgical procedures when needed
• Maintain detailed medical records and health documentation
• Collaborate with farm and operations teams on animal welfare best practices
• Ensure all activities comply with veterinary regulations and standards

What We're Looking For

• Doctor of Veterinary Medicine (DVM) degree from an accredited veterinary school
• Current, active veterinary license in Iowa
• Experience in production animal medicine or food animal practice
• Strong clinical knowledge and diagnostic skills
• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities
• Commitment to animal welfare and ethical veterinary practice
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team
