About This Opportunity

We are representing a fast-growing AI technology company backed by leading investors. Our client has built platforms that transform how knowledge workers handle complex, document-intensive processes. Their latest product serves finance, insurance, and real estate teams, combining workflow automation, intelligent search across organizational knowledge, and conversational AI with verifiable outputs and full audit trails.

This Staff Product Manager role owns the entire product—not a feature area or vertical slice. You'll work directly with engineering and design teams, with founder proximity, defining what gets built and what doesn't as the product scales through tens of millions of documents for enterprise customers.

Responsibilities

  • Own the full product roadmap, deciding what ships and what gets killed, with continuous delivery rather than quarterly planning cycles
  • Identify which customer problems are genuinely worth solving versus noise from sales pipelines or vocal users
  • Define success metrics before building anything, then measure whether features actually drove adoption and usage
  • Make trade-off calls on scope, quality, and timing, and communicate those decisions clearly across the organization
  • Maintain product coherence across workflow automation, knowledge graph, and conversational interfaces so they feel like one integrated experience
  • Document decisions, trade-offs, and strategic choices to keep a small, fast-moving team aligned
  • Ensure self-serve features require minimal explanation—if users need hand-holding, treat it as a product gap

What We're Looking For

  • End-to-end product ownership experience at a startup or product-led company, from discovery through launch—not backlog administration
  • Track record building for expert users in B2B SaaS, fintech, insurtech, developer tools, or data platforms
  • Hands-on experience with LLMs and AI agents: you build with them, understand their limitations, and can distinguish prototypes from production-ready products
  • Ability to discuss technical trade-offs with engineers without needing constant translation
  • Comfort with ambiguity and shifting priorities in a high-growth environment
  • Strong opinions, loosely held—willing to advocate for a direction but change course when evidence points elsewhere
  • Clear written communication for decisions, strategy, and rationale
