Software Engineer, Platform – Toulouse, France

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential text-to-speech technology company seeking a Software Engineer, Platform based in Toulouse, France. Our client is a distributed organization serving tens of millions of users globally with innovative accessibility products.

This is a key backend engineering role where you'll build and maintain critical services including payments, analytics, subscriptions, and external APIs. You'll work in a fast-paced, flat organization that values technical excellence and rapid delivery.

Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public text-to-speech APIs and internal services for payments, subscriptions, authentication, and consumption tracking
• Oversee the full backend API landscape, enhancing and optimizing for performance and maintainability
• Collaborate on B2B solutions with focus on customization and integration needs for enterprise clients
• Work closely with cross-functional teams to align backend architecture with overall product strategy and user experience
• Ensure all backend services meet business and scalability requirements

What We're Looking For

• Proven experience in backend development with TypeScript/Node.js (required)
• Direct experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP) and knowledge of AWS, Azure, or other cloud providers
• Strong ability to prioritize tasks based on urgency and impact, with efficiency in both ideation and implementation
• Excellent communication skills and ability to work in a distributed, asynchronous environment
• Preferred: Experience with Docker and containerized deployments
• Preferred: Proficiency in deploying high availability applications on Kubernetes
• Strategic thinking with passion for product decisions and building exceptional user experiences
