What This Role Involves

The mission of Speechify is to ensure that reading never hinders learning. With over 50 million users worldwide, our text-to-speech products transform any readable content into audio, enabling faster and more efficient consumption of information. Our platform includes applications for iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome Extension, and Web App. Recently, Google named Speechify the Chrome Extension of the Year, while Apple awarded it a 2025 Design Award for Inclusivity.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain robust APIs including public TTS API
• Build and maintain backend services such as payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs
• Think strategically in a fast-paced environment
• Maintain high standards for user experience that delight users
• Show excellent technical skills and deliver results consistently and quickly
• Collaborate with frontend engineers, AI research scientists, and other professionals from top companies like Amazon, Microsoft, Google, and startups like Stripe, Vercel, Bolt

What You Bring

• Experience in building great user experiences that delight users
• Prior experience working on backend services, payments, analytics, subscriptions, new products, text to speech, and external APIs
• A strategic mindset and passion for making product decisions
