Software Engineer, Platform – Düsseldorf, Germany

We are representing a confidential technology client in their search for a Software Engineer, Platform based in Düsseldorf, Germany. Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is partnering with an organization that serves over 50 million users globally through a fully distributed, remote-first model.

This role sits within the Platform team, responsible for the backend infrastructure that powers multiple client applications across iOS, Android, Mac, Chrome, and web platforms. You'll be working on mission-critical systems including payments, subscriptions, authentication, consumption tracking, analytics, and public-facing APIs.

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and maintain APIs supporting payment processing, subscription management, authentication, and usage tracking
• Own and improve existing services to increase performance, reduce costs, and enhance reliability
• Implement rigorous validation and testing processes to ensure system correctness before and after deployment
• Automate operational tasks to reduce manual intervention and scale team efficiency
• Create reusable systems and frameworks that enable team-wide productivity
• Build B2B and enterprise integrations for external customers utilizing the platform
• Collaborate with product, mobile, and web teams to ensure backend architecture supports product roadmap
• Take ownership of systems and progressively reduce their operational overhead through automation and improved design

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• Proven backend development experience using TypeScript and Node.js
• Direct hands-on experience with Google Cloud Platform (GCP)
• Working knowledge of AWS, Azure, or another major cloud provider
• Track record of delegating work effectively and demonstrating the value created by that delegation
• Active use of AI agents in daily workflow, with clear understanding of where automation runs unattended versus requiring human review
• Strong debugging instincts using logs, database state, and actual system requests rather than relying solely on summaries
• Sound judgment about scope management and the ability to articulate technical decisions clearly
• Openness to feedback and constructive correction

Preferred experience:

• Docker and containerized deployment workflows
• Deploying and managing high-availability applications on Kubernetes
