Senior Technical Project Manager (all genders)

About the Role

We are representing a confidential AI and CRM consultancy based in the DACH region. They are seeking a Senior Technical Project Manager to own end-to-end delivery for complex software projects including CMS builds, custom development, system integrations, and AI agent engineering for enterprise B2B clients. This is a hybrid position based in Böblingen, Germany.

You will sit embedded within the engineering team, owning project baselines, defending estimates, running delivery rhythms, and serving as the single point of accountability from kickoff to handover. This role requires both technical depth to challenge engineers and commercial acumen to negotiate scope with clients.

Responsibilities

• Own scope, budget, and timeline for a portfolio of software and agent engineering projects from baseline through go-live
• Establish robust project baselines including person-day estimates, milestones, dependencies, and live risk logs using Jira, Confluence, and Forecast
• Run weekly delivery rhythms across the engineering team including sprint reviews, risk reviews, change control, and client status reporting
• Protect project margins by identifying scope drift early and converting it into signed change requests rather than unbilled work
• Challenge and validate estimates, building reusable estimation models for the team
• Lead distributed engineering squads across multiple locations without direct line auGet A Job.aiy
• Leverage AI tooling to automate reporting processes

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years running software delivery projects (web platforms, custom development, or integrations) in an agency, consultancy, or product organization
• Proven ownership of project budgets and scope, not just timeline coordination—you must be able to discuss project financials in detail
• Sufficient technical depth to review API contracts, data models, or pull requests and engage credibly with senior engineers
• Experience negotiating scope changes with client stakeholders and converting them into commercial agreements
• Business-level German (client meetings conducted in German) and fluent English (engineering work conducted in English)
• Comfort working in a distributed team environment across multiple countries

Preferred Qualifications:

• Hands-on exposure to CMS platforms, platform APIs, or comparable ecosystem tooling
• Experience with AI-assisted delivery work, agent workflows, or LLM tooling in a delivery context
• Technical background (development, QA, solution engineering) prior to transitioning into delivery management

Pay

Compensation details will be discussed during the screening process based on your experience level and the client's approved range.
