About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential healthcare technology organization in their search for a Senior System Engineer specializing in Linux and Kubernetes environments. This role is based in München, with potential for remote work arrangements for qualified candidates.
Our client's TechOps team is responsible for the technical infrastructure of software solutions deployed in clinical settings. You'll work alongside development, customization, and customer support engineers to ensure stable, secure, and high-performance system operations. This position requires an experienced professional who can contribute expert knowledge in Linux and Kubernetes, share insights with the team, and drive continuous improvement of platforms and operational models with a clear focus on automation.
Responsibilities
- Own the operation, development, and troubleshooting of containerized platforms including Kubernetes, Docker, and k3s
- Automate deployment and operational processes using modern tools such as Argo CD and GitHub/Gitea Actions
- Configure Kubernetes components including Ingress (Traefik) and secrets management solutions (external-secrets, sealed-secrets)
- Analyze complex infrastructure issues spanning Linux, containers, Kubernetes, networking, and security domains
- Drive technical improvements and set technical direction for platform evolution
What We're Looking For
- Multiple years of experience in production Linux system operations
- Deep expertise in Linux operating systems including Ubuntu, Red Hat, LVM, PAM, OpenSSL, and SSH
- Strong knowledge of container technologies and Kubernetes (Docker, k3s, ctr)
- Proven experience with deployment and automation tools including Argo CD, GitHub/Gitea Actions, and shell scripting (bash/sh)
- Solid understanding of cloud-native technologies such as Ingress/Traefik, external-secrets, and sealed-secrets
- Strong infrastructure and security knowledge including networking, high availability, performance optimization, and troubleshooting
- Experience with Windows infrastructure (MS SQL Server, IIS, SMB, RDP) is a plus
- Excellent German language skills in both written and spoken communication are required
