Senior Strategist / Strategy Lead (contract)

About This Role

Our client, a leading digital creative agency, is expanding their strategy team to support ongoing B2B technology marketing initiatives across multiple business lines. We are recruiting several experienced freelance strategists—including one Senior Strategist and two Strategy Leads—for contract positions running through January 2027.

These roles focus on developing integrated marketing campaigns that span brand storytelling, digital content, podcasts, and performance-driven social media. You'll collaborate with creative, design, and production teams to translate complex business objectives into compelling narratives and actionable creative briefs across multiple channels and audiences.

The ideal candidates can move seamlessly between high-level brand positioning and granular channel-specific execution, understanding how a central campaign idea adapts across formats while maintaining strategic coherence.

Responsibilities

• Develop strategic narratives for integrated marketing campaigns and multi-channel social content
• Translate business objectives and audience insights into actionable creative direction for cross-functional teams
• Partner with design, motion, and production teams throughout concept development and execution
• Connect individual content executions to cohesive campaign ideas and broader marketing goals
• Synthesize complex information into focused briefs, frameworks, and presentations
• Present strategic thinking clearly and respond thoughtfully to client and internal stakeholder feedback
• Navigate multiple business lines and evolving priorities while maintaining strategic clarity
• Shape brand-level narratives and translate them into campaign platforms and channel-specific strategies
• Develop direction across formats including brand content, podcasts, social campaigns, and performance-oriented media
• Ensure alignment between audience insight, campaign narrative, creative concept, and final execution

For Strategy Lead candidates: You'll take greater ownership of strategic direction, senior client partnership, and alignment across interconnected workstreams, guiding multidisciplinary teams through complex engagements.

What We're Looking For

• Significant strategy experience within an agency, brand, or similarly fast-paced creative environment
• Strong background in marketing and campaign strategy, particularly across social and digital channels
• Experience developing mid- and lower-funnel content that connects storytelling to specific audience actions and business goals
• Excellent synthesis and storytelling skills with ability to turn complex inputs into clear, persuasive narratives
• Strong creative instincts and experience partnering directly with design, motion, and creative disciplines
• Confidence managing multiple workstreams and collaborating with diverse internal and client stakeholders
• Strong presentation, communication, and facilitation skills
• Judgment to work independently, identify priorities, and maintain team momentum through ambiguity
• Curiosity about emerging technology and AI with thoughtful judgment about their strategic and creative applications

Strategy Lead additional requirements: Demonstrated experience owning strategy across complex engagements, building trust with senior client stakeholders, and maintaining cohesive strategic direction across interconnected workstreams.

Contract Details

These full-time contract engagements (40 hours per week) are expected to begin as soon as possible and continue through January 29, 2027. Location is flexible within the USA.
