About This Opportunity
We are representing a confidential hosting infrastructure client seeking two Senior Software Developers specializing in Platform & Infrastructure Engineering. This is a remote opportunity based in Germany with flexible hybrid options available near the client's locations.
You will join a newly formed team building a next-generation product line from the ground up. This is a greenfield opportunity where you'll make meaningful architectural and technical decisions that shape the platform's future. Your work will create the foundation that both external customers and internal teams rely on for building managed services.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop business logic for authentication, infrastructure primitives, and resource management systems
- Build and maintain APIs that expose virtual servers, storage, networking, and account management capabilities
- Implement infrastructure-as-code solutions and automation frameworks
- Participate in on-call rotation and production incident response
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system redundancy and reliability
- Make pragmatic build-vs-buy decisions aligned with product strategy and time-to-market goals
- Contribute to both backend application development and underlying infrastructure operations
What We're Looking For
Backend & API Engineering:
- Production experience with modern backend languages (Go, Python, Java, or Rust)
- Proven track record designing and building stable APIs for infrastructure consumption
Infrastructure Expertise:
- Hands-on experience with IaaS provisioning stacks: OpenStack components, KubeVirt/QEMU/libvirt, Ceph, or LVM
- Production experience with Kubernetes or comparable orchestration platforms
- Strong background with virtualization platforms (KVM/OpenStack or similar technologies)
- Proficiency with infrastructure-as-code tools (Terraform/Ansible)
- Experience operating large-scale infrastructure environments
Mindset & Approach:
- Solution-agnostic mindset; able to evaluate technical options without defaulting to familiar stacks
- Full-stack ownership spanning both backend services and infrastructure layers
- Comfortable with on-call responsibilities and production incident management
- Balance between speed of delivery and engineering excellence
- Fluent English required; German language skills are a plus
- Ideally 10+ years of combined relevant experience
