(Senior) Social Media & Video Editor (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential digital agency client in Köln seeking a Senior Social Media & Video Editor to join their creative team. This role combines strategic social media thinking with hands-on content production, offering the chance to shape brand narratives across platforms while leading editorial and video production workflows.

Responsibilities

• Develop social media formats and editorial concepts aligned with brand strategy, target audiences, and platform dynamics, including content planning and scheduling
• Advise clients on strategic development of their social accounts, bringing fresh ideas and creative impulses to the table
• Take ownership of community management and publishing for selected accounts, continuously refining editorial guidelines and content standards
• Prepare and lead editorial shoots, conducting interviews on-set and identifying compelling stories, scenes, and assets that resonate on social platforms
• Perform editorial video editing in Adobe Premiere, transforming raw footage into platform-optimized social assets and coordinating internal and external editors during post-production
• Write captions, hooks, and social copy for organic content, as well as campaign texts and headlines for broader communication formats

What We're Looking For

• Several years of professional experience in social media, editorial, content, or video production—ideally from an agency or production environment
• Strategic and editorial thinking combined with hands-on execution skills
• Strong instinct for social trends, platform logic, and relevant content formats
• Very strong skills in Adobe Premiere; knowledge of additional Adobe programs is a plus
• Experience in editorial shoot preparation and on-set production support
• Confident grasp of language, storytelling, and diverse brand tonalities
• Client consulting competence: able to present confidently, advise strategically, and support recommendations with solid rationale
• Structured, independent, and reliable working style with ability to manage multiple clients and productions simultaneously
• Excellent German and English language skills
