Senior SEO Manager Content & AEO (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our client, a leading digital marketplace platform in the automotive sector, is seeking a Senior SEO Manager Content & AEO to drive their organic visibility strategy across traditional search, AI Overviews, and Large Language Models. This is a remote position based in Germany.

Working as part of a global content marketing team, you'll take ownership of the German market for a high-traffic digital platform serving diverse user groups with varying search intents and customer journeys. You'll work independently to identify opportunities, set priorities, and drive SEO and content initiatives from analysis through implementation and measurement.

This role goes beyond traditional SEO consulting—you'll connect deep SEO expertise with data, content strategy, and user intent understanding while collaborating with Product, UX, Tech, and Marketing teams to evolve the organic search strategy.

Responsibilities

• Own the SEO, content, and AEO strategy for the German market, independently identifying the biggest opportunities for organic visibility, user relevance, and business impact
• Analyze search, content, and performance data to identify keyword gaps, intent patterns, and content opportunities, translating insights into a clearly prioritized roadmap with measurable goals
• Evolve the search strategy beyond classical SEO by systematically testing how the platform remains relevant and visible in AI Overviews, generative search results, and Large Language Models
• Develop and optimize scalable content and landing page concepts across different user intents and customer journeys—from informational and research phases to transactional marketplace experiences
• Collaborate closely with Product, UX, SEO-Tech, and Marketing teams to identify, prioritize, and implement structural and technical SEO opportunities
• Manage initiatives end-to-end: from research and business case development through prioritization, briefing, and implementation to measuring actual impact and adjusting strategy based on data
• Coordinate agencies, freelancers, and content partners as needed, ensuring quality, speed, and clear priorities

What We're Looking For

• Several years of solid SEO experience with demonstrated success independently developing and implementing major SEO, organic growth, or search initiatives—ideally for large websites, platforms, marketplaces, or other complex digital products
• Concrete examples where your decisions led to measurable improvements in organic visibility, traffic, conversion, leads, or other business KPIs
• Strong understanding of search intent, content SEO, information architecture, internal linking, and technical SEO fundamentals, with the ability to assess which levers promise the greatest impact
• Highly data- and hypothesis-driven approach with proficiency in tools such as Google Search Console, Google Analytics, Sistrix, Ahrefs, Semrush, or comparable SEO and analytics platforms
• Active engagement with AI Search, AEO, and GEO beyond buzzwords—you stay current with how search is evolving, experiment with new approaches, and can apply classical SEO principles to new search experiences (extensive prior AEO experience not required)
• Combination of strategic thinking with hands-on mentality and high ownership: you don't wait for finished briefs but identify opportunities yourself, set priorities, make informed decisions, and drive initiatives to completion
• Ability to communicate complex SEO topics clearly and gain buy-in from Product, UX, Tech, and Marketing stakeholders without direct authority
• Excellent German language skills and fluent business English
