Senior Sales Consultant Smart Grids (all genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential cleantech organization driving the energy transition across the DACH region. They are seeking a Senior Sales Consultant to join their growing sales and business development function, focusing on smart grid solutions for utility operators.

This is a remote-friendly role based in Germany, with optional hybrid presence in Cologne. You'll own strategic customer relationships and the complete sales cycle for enterprise grid technology solutions.

Responsibilities

• Build, nurture, and expand relationships with enterprise utility customers across Germany, Austria, and Switzerland
• Develop strategic account plans to achieve and exceed sales targets
• Implement strategies to attract new high-value customers and expand existing accounts through cross-selling and upselling
• Manage the entire sales cycle: identify opportunities, deliver presentations, prepare quotes, and negotiate contracts
• Identify customer requirements and support strategic product portfolio development
• Own the strategic direction of tenders, ensuring customer alignment and working with bid management and sales engineering teams
• Act as a technology advisor to customers, uncovering pain points and driving new use cases
• Collaborate with marketing, customer success, and product teams to ensure seamless client experiences

What We're Looking For

• University degree in industrial engineering, business administration with technology management focus, or comparable field
• Proven track record as a Key Account Manager, Sales Manager, or similar role in the energy sector
• Strategic thinker skilled at navigating complex customer organizations and aligning stakeholders
• Strong communicator with a confident, solution-oriented approach
• Team player who supports colleagues to achieve common goals
• Fluent in German and English
• High degree of initiative and comfort working independently
