(Senior) Projektcontroller (m/w/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential client in the Munich area seeking a Senior Project Controller to join their finance team. In this role, you will provide commercial oversight for ongoing projects, analyzing costs, results, and financial performance throughout the project lifecycle.

Your responsibilities include:

• Monitoring project financials and conducting comprehensive cost and profitability analyses
• Creating and coordinating forecasts and budgets while analyzing variances between planned and actual performance
• Tracking key performance indicators and ensuring financial targets are met
• Preparing regular management reports and financial analyses to support strategic decision-making
• Supporting periodic financial closings and ensuring accurate project accounting
• Collaborating closely with project managers, department heads, and senior finance leadership on commercial matters
• Continuously improving controlling processes and tools to enhance transparency and project governance

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings a strong foundation in controlling and project finance:

• Degree in Business Administration, Finance, Controlling, or a commercial qualification with controlling certification
• Minimum five years of professional experience as a Project Controller, Financial Controller, or similar controlling role, ideally with project controlling focus
• Strong expertise in project controlling methodologies and solid understanding of accounting and finance principles
• Experience in construction or project-based business environments is advantageous
• Advanced Excel skills; practical experience with Power BI and LucaNet is highly valued
• Excellent analytical capabilities, strong affinity for numbers, and ability to translate data into actionable insights
• Independent working style with strong communication skills for collaborating with operational teams and management
• Fluency in German is required for this position
