Senior Product Owner (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential healthcare technology client in Berlin that operates a two-sided marketplace connecting healthcare professionals with employers. They have moved beyond the build phase and are now laser-focused on conversion optimization across their entire matching funnel. We're seeking a Senior Product Owner who can turn data into decisions and owns outcomes rather than activity.

This is a hands-on role where you'll own the complete matching journey—from initial contact through hire—and be accountable for measurable improvement in conversion at every stage. Within your first 90 days, you'll be expected to move at least one key metric and defend your approach to leadership.

Responsibilities

• Own the end-to-end matching funnel and conversion metrics at each stage: invitation, match acceptance, transfer, interview scheduling, and hire completion
• Analyze business requirements and translate them into defensible roadmaps, epics, and prioritized backlogs—including what will not be built
• Document and optimize user journeys on both sides of the marketplace, making explicit trade-offs between candidate and employer needs
• Create actionable product concepts with clear effort and ROI estimates, owning delivery from ideation through launch
• Determine where AI capabilities add value and where they don't, running hypothesis-driven experiments with predefined success criteria
• Define, track, and iteratively improve KPIs, using data-driven storytelling to align stakeholders, engineers, and the data team
• Collaborate across functions in an agile environment, writing clear user stories and acceptance criteria for complex workflows

What We're Looking For

Required:

• 5+ years in Product Ownership or Product Management, shipping with cross-functional agile teams
• Direct experience building or scaling marketplaces, job boards, or recruitment platforms—you understand two-sided funnel dynamics
• Data-driven approach: you write your own analytics queries, read experiment results independently, and can say "this didn't work" without defensiveness
• Proven ability to define product vision, roadmaps, and priorities that balance business goals, user needs, and technical constraints
• Excellent written German and English—user-facing content is in German; technical documentation is in English
• Comfort with analytics platforms, A/B testing tools, and experimentation frameworks

Valued but not required:

• Experience with search optimization and AI-driven search experiences (AEO, AIEO, GEO)
• Background in matching or recommendation systems, particularly understanding the gap between offline metrics and business outcomes
• Familiarity with healthcare hiring workflows, shift-work environments, and qualification recognition processes
• SQL proficiency—not mandatory, but those who thrive in this role typically have it
