Senior Product Manager, Developer Experience

Confluent is hiring a Senior Product Manager focused on Developer Experience in Lansing, Ingham County. This is a full-time, on-site position offering competitive compensation and equity participation.

About the Role

As Senior Product Manager for Developer Experience at Confluent, you will shape the strategy and execution of products, tools, and services that define how developers interact with our platform. You'll own the end-to-end experience across APIs, SDKs, documentation, and developer tooling—working to reduce friction, accelerate time-to-value, and delight technical users. This role bridges product strategy, engineering execution, and developer advocacy to build products developers love.

What You'll Do

• Define and communicate the product vision and roadmap for developer-facing tools and experiences
• Conduct user research, gather feedback, and synthesize insights from developers to identify unmet needs
• Partner with engineering and design to prioritize features, improvements, and fixes that matter most to developers
• Own metrics and analytics that measure developer success, adoption, and satisfaction
• Collaborate across sales, marketing, and customer success to understand pain points and opportunities
• Advocate for developer needs internally; champion simplicity, clarity, and developer-first thinking
• Launch features, communicate updates, and build momentum within the developer community

What We're Looking For

• 5+ years of product management experience, ideally with focus on developer products or platforms
• Strong technical acumen—ability to understand APIs, SDKs, and integration patterns; CS degree or equivalent experience
• Demonstrated ability to influence without authority across engineering, design, and business teams
• Track record of shipping products that drive adoption and developer satisfaction
• Comfort with data-driven decision making; ability to define and track meaningful metrics
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills; ability to explain complex concepts clearly
• Passion for understanding developer needs and building products that solve real problems
