About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential eCommerce organization in the patient care and medical equipment space. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Product Designer/Industrial Designer to join their fully remote team. This role offers the chance to design meaningful products that directly improve the lives of patients and caregivers worldwide.

As Senior Product Designer/Industrial Designer, you will own the complete design lifecycle—from initial concept through production—transforming user feedback and market insights into manufacturable, ergonomic solutions. You'll work with international manufacturing partners to deliver products that balance innovation, usability, and cost-efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end product design from concept to production-ready solutions, applying DFM (Design for Manufacturing) and DFA (Design for Assembly) analysis
• Translate product briefs, caregiver feedback, and customer reviews into innovative, user-centered concepts
• Select appropriate materials that balance aesthetics, durability, and cost-efficiency
• Create advanced CAD models and detailed technical documentation, utilizing FEA and structural simulations to validate designs
• Design and validate mockups, prototypes, and functional test samples
• Collaborate with engineers, sourcing partners, and marketing to meet cost targets, supplier capabilities, and timelines
• Optimize design-to-prototype cycle times and improve overall design efficiency
• Communicate effectively with international manufacturing partners, particularly in Asia
• Deliver 4–6 fully engineered designs within the first 3 months and 12–18 production-ready SKUs by end of 2026

What We're Looking For

• 3+ years of experience in Industrial Design or Product Design
• 2+ years designing mass-produced consumer or medical equipment products
• Proven track record taking products from concept to mass production
• Strong mechanical design, prototyping, simulation, and testing experience
• Experience working within manufacturing and supplier constraints
• Demonstrated ability collaborating with Asian manufacturing partners
• Experience designing products for marketplace environments with public customer reviews
• Proficiency with mechanical CAD software (SolidWorks, Inventor, or Onshape)
• Experience with cost modeling and margin-focused design decisions
• Deep understanding of ergonomics, usability, and user-centered design principles
• Strong analytical skills to transform insights into actionable design improvements
• Excellent cross-functional collaboration and communication abilities
• Proactive problem-solver with ownership mindset and commitment to excellence
