(Senior) Operations Specialist E-Commerce & Retail (m/w/d)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential footwear and fashion retail organization in Detmold, Nordrhein-Westfalen, Deutschland. We are seeking a (Senior) Operations Specialist E-Commerce & Retail to join their team at the earliest possible start date.

This is an exciting opportunity to work at the intersection of e-commerce, retail operations, logistics, and technology within a growing European retail environment.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the central interface between e-commerce, retail, logistics, IT, and external partners to ensure customer-oriented and efficient end-to-end processes
• Operationally manage and coordinate fulfillment, warehouse, and transport processes with external service providers for European e-commerce operations
• Independently initiate, plan, and implement projects and sub-projects in e-commerce, retail, and omnichannel environments—from requirements gathering through concept development, testing, and roll-out
• Identify opportunities for process automation and efficiency improvements, including through modern tools and AI-based analysis
• Contribute to translating e-commerce and retail growth strategies into concrete projects, roadmaps, and process improvements
• Operationally analyze and help shape internal and external logistics/operational KPIs; identify action areas and measures in close collaboration with Sales, Merchandising, and Customer Service teams
• Prepare management reports and decision-making documents

What We're Looking For

• Successfully completed commercial apprenticeship or university degree in business administration
• Professional experience in e-commerce or retail environments, preferably in fashion or footwear retail, ideally with logistics/fulfillment exposure
• Experience participating in projects (requirements gathering, testing, roll-out), preferably with some sub-project responsibility
• Knowledge of BI/reporting tools (e.g., forecasts, anomaly detection, automated reports) and modern analysis/automation approaches is advantageous
• Independent, structured working style combined with a strong hands-on mentality and results orientation
• Analytical thinking and enthusiasm for designing and optimizing processes
• Strong communication skills and negotiation-level English proficiency
• Openness to change, enthusiasm for continuous improvement, and willingness to adopt new tools and technologies
• Collaborative team player who values constructive cooperation
