About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential food manufacturing organization in their search for a Senior National Account Manager to join their commercial team. This is a hybrid role based in Birmingham, England.

In this position, you will own the full P&L for a major foodservice distributor account, driving ambitious growth across both sales and margin. You'll be responsible for building and executing a joint business plan that aligns brand priorities with your client's commercial strategy, directly influencing how products are listed, promoted, and positioned across thousands of professional kitchens throughout the UK.

Responsibilities

  • Own the complete P&L for a flagship foodservice account, managing pricing, promotions, trade spend, and accruals to achieve revenue and margin targets
  • Lead annual trading term negotiations and develop joint business plans that secure optimal brand positioning and investment
  • Build and maintain strategic relationships across all levels of the distributor organization, from senior commercial buyers to depot operations and logistics teams
  • Drive new product development and innovation launches, ensuring on-time delivery at competitive price points in collaboration with culinary and new business teams
  • Execute push-pull strategies by engaging end users including contract caterers, hospitality venues, restaurants, and QSR operators to grow brand presence and volume
  • Deliver measurable improvements in brand listings, distribution, and trading terms that support sustainable commercial growth
  • Collaborate with internal supply chain, demand planning, and culinary teams to ensure seamless service delivery

What We're Looking For

  • Proven foodservice experience managing major distributor accounts (ideally Bidfood, Brakes, or Booker)
  • Deep understanding of the foodservice route-to-market and distribution landscape
  • Strong commercial acumen with demonstrated ability to own and manage a full P&L
  • Excellent negotiation skills with the confidence to secure favorable terms while maintaining productive partnerships
  • Ability to sell on brand value rather than price alone
  • Resilience and solution-oriented mindset to navigate complex commercial environments
  • Genuine interest in food culture, culinary trends, and how consumer behavior shapes innovation in the out-of-home market
  • Experience thriving in fast-paced, lean team environments during periods of organizational change
  • Understanding of how taste, nutrition, and functionality drive meaningful brand experiences
