Mydpr is seeking a Senior Mechanical Engineer, HVAC to join our engineering team across our 4 locations. In this full-time position, you will lead the design, specification, and installation oversight of heating, ventilation, and air conditioning systems that serve critical facility needs.
Role Overview
As a Senior Mechanical Engineer specializing in HVAC systems, you will take ownership of complex projects from concept through commissioning. Your expertise in thermal dynamics, refrigerant cycles, and building systems will be essential as you collaborate with architects, contractors, and facility managers to deliver reliable climate control solutions. This is a hands-on leadership role where technical depth and strategic thinking drive project success.
Core Duties
- Design and specify HVAC systems for new construction and retrofit projects
- Develop load calculations, equipment selections, and ductwork layouts
- Review shop drawings and contractor submittals for compliance with design intent
- Oversee system commissioning and performance testing
- Troubleshoot operational issues and recommend improvements
- Mentor junior engineers and technicians on best practices
- Ensure all work meets applicable codes, standards, and energy efficiency requirements
Skills & Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent professional experience
- Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain one
- 7+ years of HVAC design and project experience
- Proficiency with HVAC design software and CAD tools
- Strong knowledge of ASHRAE standards and building codes
- Excellent communication and project management abilities
- Ability to work across multiple locations and adapt to varied project types
