Senior Mechanical Design Engineer (m/f/d)

Responsibilities

Our client, a confidential aerospace technology organization, is seeking a Senior Mechanical Design Engineer to join their multidisciplinary product development team in München. In this role, you will:

• Develop and design assemblies for precision optical systems, working independently with significant technical responsibility
• Create and maintain assembly models throughout their complete life cycle
• Perform tolerancing and verification of complex systems
• Derive system and subsystem requirements while defining interfaces and mechanical envelopes
• Prepare comprehensive technical documentation including manufacturing documents
• Conduct strength and modal analysis for initial component dimensioning
• Document results and present findings to project teams and in formal design reviews

What We're Looking For

• University degree in mechanical engineering, aerospace engineering, or related technical field
• 5+ years of hands-on experience designing optomechanical systems with strong knowledge of design principles and tolerance analysis
• Proven track record developing technical solutions for high-precision applications in challenging environments
• Hands-on mentality with willingness to build and test your own designs
• Deep understanding of manufacturing processes and design for serial production
• Solid grasp of design calculations and GD&T (Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing)
• Strong proficiency with 3D CAD software and PLM systems; experience with Siemens Teamcenter/NX strongly preferred
• Results-oriented, reliable, and proactive working style with ability to work independently
• Excellent organizational, communication, and documentation skills
• Strong English communication abilities, both written and verbal
• Enthusiasm for working in innovative, dynamic, team-oriented environments
