About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential consumer technology organization seeking a Senior Manager, IT Platform Engineering for a fixed-term engagement. This is a remote role based in the USA, with a strong preference for candidates in the New York Tri-state area.

Our client operates at significant scale, serving a global workforce with enterprise-grade identity, infrastructure, and endpoint engineering capabilities. You will lead a technically excellent team responsible for enterprise identity platforms, network infrastructure, endpoint engineering, remote access modernization, and critical joiner/mover/leaver automation—serving as the management layer above senior engineers while setting delivery tempo and translating technical complexity into clear business direction.

The right candidate brings real technical credibility. You will contribute hands-on where your depth adds the most leverage—architecture reviews, identity design decisions, vendor technical validation—while spending the majority of your time on people development, program leadership, and cross-functional partnership.

Responsibilities

• Lead, coach, and develop a team of senior IT platform engineers, actively growing them toward informal domain ownership across Identity, Endpoint, and Security Engineering
• Own the full people management lifecycle: hiring, onboarding, performance management, career development, and succession planning
• Own delivery accountability across major IT programs including identity maturation, privileged access management deployment, network-as-a-service delivery, and remote access modernization
• Partner with staff-level engineers to sequence technical roadmaps and protect strategic programs from business-as-usual erosion
• Manage delivery relationships with key technology vendors and implementation partners—milestone accountability, performance governance, and risk escalation without requiring executive involvement
• Lead programs across Security, GRC, Legal, People, and Finance as a true business partner
• Translate complex technical risk into clear, actionable business language for executive stakeholders and influence without authority across functions
• Own the maturation of enterprise identity programs end-to-end, including PAM deployment, IGA governance, and JML automation to meet compliance and audit-readiness requirements
• Apply technical depth at high-leverage points: architecture reviews, identity design decisions, vendor technical validation, and engineering escalations
• Participate in a rotating on-call schedule for critical IT infrastructure incidents

What We're Looking For

• 8+ years in enterprise IT with at least 3+ years managing technical teams at or above Senior Manager level in a high-growth, fast-paced technology company
• Deeply technical career foundation—you have personally built and operated identity platforms, managed modern IAM environments, deployed MDM/UEM solutions, and run network infrastructure before stepping into management
• Hands-on modern enterprise IAM proficiency—proven experience across at least one full IAM/IGA program delivery; working knowledge of JML automation, IGA governance, PAM vaulting, SCIM provisioning, and compliance controls
• Multi-cloud fluency across AWS, Azure, and/or GCP—you have operated in multi-cloud environments and make informed infrastructure and architecture decisions with confidence
• Proven track record building and scaling technical teams—developed engineers into domain leads, structured teams for growth, and retained strong talent in competitive markets across multiple organizations
• Vendor and partner management experience—owned commercial relationships, held partners to milestones, and managed escalation paths without requiring executive involvement
• Cross-functional influence—equally effective driving alignment with Legal, Finance, and People as in technical architecture reviews; demonstrated influence without authority across multiple organizational functions
• Exceptional communicator—written, verbal, and executive-ready presentation skills
• Proficiency in agile methodologies—experience using Jira and Confluence as everyday working tools
• Comfort with occasional after-hours response as part of on-call rotation for critical infrastructure incidents
