About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defense contractor supporting critical Department of Defense missions across the Indo-Pacific region. We are seeking an experienced Military Advisor to provide operational expertise on a part-time, remote basis with significant international travel requirements.

This role involves episodic deployments to overseas locations, often in remote and challenging environments, with assignments lasting several weeks to months. Travel will constitute 51-75% of your time and may include locations with limited infrastructure.

Responsibilities

• Provide military advisory support to U.S. and allied forces in the Indo-Pacific, assisting with mission planning, operational execution, and strategic assessments
• Mentor and advise senior military leaders on command and staff operations, resource management, and mission effectiveness
• Deliver training and instruction on military doctrine, strategy, and operations to U.S. and allied personnel
• Collaborate with interagency and multinational teams to enhance operational coordination
• Support development and execution of military exercises and operational initiatives aligned with U.S. national security interests
• Conduct assessments, briefings, and after-action reviews to drive continuous improvement
• Maintain situational awareness of the regional security environment and provide timely insights to senior leadership

What We're Looking For

Required qualifications:

• 9+ years relevant experience with Bachelor's degree; OR 7+ years with Master's degree; OR 4+ years with PhD/JD; OR 13+ years with High School Diploma
• Proven leadership experience in military operations with background in advising, mentoring, and instructing military personnel
• Experience in the Indo-Pacific region with understanding of regional security landscape, operational challenges, and strategic goals
• Instructor experience delivering complex military concepts to diverse audiences
• Strong leadership, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in high-stress environments
• Willingness to deploy up to 75% as required by mission needs
• Ability to obtain and maintain Secret clearance

Preferred qualifications:

• Graduate of U.S. Army Command and General Staff College (CGSC)
• Master's degree in International Relations, Military Strategy, or Defense Studies
• Experience within a U.S. Special Operations Command unit
• Deployment experience to the Indo-Pacific region
• Language proficiency in Indo-Pacific languages, particularly Mandarin or Cantonese
• Current Secret clearance
