Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist (NY license!) – Part Time

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential pediatric healthcare organization seeking a Child & Adolescent Psychiatrist for a virtual behavioral health program serving patients across New York. This is a flexible opportunity available as either per diem (12-15 hours/week) or part-time (minimum 20 hours/week), with part-time roles being benefits-eligible through the employer.

This position requires an active New York medical license and DEA registration. Candidates will provide psychopharmacology services to pediatric, adolescent, and young adult patients through a telehealth platform.

Responsibilities

• Conduct virtual psychiatric evaluations and assessments for children, adolescents, and young adults presenting with common behavioral health conditions including depression, anxiety, ADHD, and conduct disorders
• Formulate differential diagnoses and develop evidence-based treatment plans
• Prescribe and manage medications as part of comprehensive treatment regimens
• Provide medication management sessions, educating patients and families on side effects, risks, benefits, and expected outcomes
• Collaborate with therapists and medical leadership on integrated care planning
• Document all patient encounters thoroughly in the electronic medical record
• Order and interpret diagnostic tests when clinically appropriate
• Screen patients for danger to self or others and provide appropriate crisis intervention or referrals
• Communicate treatment plans with patients' primary care physicians and behavioral health team members
• Provide clinical supervision to psychiatric nurse practitioners as needed
• Maintain current clinical knowledge through ongoing education and literature review

What We're Looking For

• MD or DO degree with active, unrestricted medical license in New York State
• Board eligible or board certified in Child and Adolescent Psychiatry
• Active DEA license in New York (required)
• Valid New York Medicaid number (preferred)
• Prior experience in psychopharmacology management with pediatric and adolescent populations
• Strong clinical judgment and ability to follow evidence-based care guidelines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills for patient education and team collaboration
• Strong organizational and time management abilities
• Demonstrated adherence to ethical and professional standards of conduct
• Comfort working in a virtual/telehealth environment
• Team-oriented approach with strong collaboration skills

Pay
