Senior Manager, AI Engineering

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential cybersecurity organization that is leading innovation at the intersection of offensive security and artificial intelligence. Our talent team is seeking a Senior Manager, AI Engineering to lead multiple AI engineering teams building production-scale systems that help enterprises identify and reduce cyber risk.

This is a remote position located in Seattle, WA or Austin, TX, with candidates expected to reside within approximately 50 miles of either city. The role requires occasional in-office collaboration, typically once per week on Thursdays.

Responsibilities

• Lead, mentor, and develop Engineering Managers and senior engineers across multiple AI engineering teams
• Build scalable systems and practices that enable teams to deliver AI-powered solutions consistently and independently
• Own execution outcomes across multiple teams, ensuring delivery commitments are met and dependencies are actively managed
• Embed AI-powered workflows, agentic systems, and responsible AI practices into product design and operations
• Guide teams through evolving AI technologies, shifting priorities, and emerging security challenges while maintaining clarity and momentum
• Apply first-principles problem solving to complex AI and product challenges, designing durable and scalable solutions
• Use data-driven decision making to assess system performance, model quality, delivery outcomes, and operational health
• Collaborate cross-functionally with Product, Design, Data, Security Research, and Engineering leadership to align efforts with company strategy

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience managing product engineering teams, including teams delivering AI-powered or data-intensive systems
• Demonstrated experience leading teams with complex dependencies across engineering, product, and non-technical partners
• Experience developing and mentoring Engineering Managers
• Strong technical foundation in modern software systems that support AI-enabled products

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience building or scaling applied AI systems in production environments
• Familiarity with human-in-the-loop, agentic, or automation-driven workflows
• Experience with PostgreSQL, Rails, GraphQL, Apollo, and React
