Senior Electronics Engineer EW (All Genders)

About This Opportunity

Our talent team is representing a confidential defence technology client in Berlin who is seeking a Senior Electronics Engineer specializing in electronic warfare systems. This is a unique opportunity to lead critical hardware architecture for autonomous and EW platforms deployed in contested electromagnetic environments. You will work alongside world-class engineering teams on systems that directly support NATO operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead end-to-end board design using Altium Designer, establishing standards for High-Density Interconnect (HDI) techniques, stackup strategies, and complex high-frequency routing
• Oversee design, simulation, and implementation of custom RF components, matching networks, and signal conditioning chains for contested operational environments
• Direct antenna design and placement simulations using CST Studio Suite and Altair FEKO to optimize platform-level RF performance and mitigate co-site interference
• Drive mechanical packaging and electro-mechanical integration of hardware systems in collaboration with software, firmware, and mechanical engineering teams
• Establish rigorous testing, debugging, and validation frameworks to ensure hardware meets strict defence and environmental standards
• Mentor junior and mid-level engineers, conduct technical design reviews, and contribute to long-term hardware roadmaps and architectural decisions
• Serve as technical authority for critical RF and hardware systems from concept through field validation

What We're Looking For

• 6+ years of professional experience leading complex electronic, RF, or hardware systems development
• Expert-level proficiency in Altium Designer with demonstrated success bringing complex HDI, high-speed, and high-frequency PCBs to production
• Deep experience in RF circuit design, matching network optimization, and electromagnetic simulation using CST Studio Suite, Altair FEKO, or equivalent tools
• Proven ability to define multi-layer hardware architectures and translate broad operational requirements into robust engineering specifications
• Track record of technical ownership in fast-paced, multi-disciplinary environments
• Advanced system-level debugging capability across hardware, RF, software, and firmware boundaries
• B.S. or M.S. in Electrical, Electronic, Telecommunications, or Mechatronics Engineering, or equivalent practical experience
• Direct experience in Defence, Aerospace, Telecommunications, or high-reliability hardware sectors strongly preferred
• Familiarity with RF spectrum management, signal processing techniques, or Software-Defined Radio (SDR) architectures highly valued
