About This Opportunity
We are representing a global technology organization in their search for a Senior DevOps / Platform Engineer to lead a critical enterprise-scale migration initiative. This role focuses on migrating 2,000+ repositories between GitHub environments, including all CI/CD automation and dependent infrastructure components.
Our client needs an engineer who can independently drive discovery, design, automation, pilot execution, migration waves, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization activities across this complex platform transformation.
Location: Ukraine (remote)
Responsibilities
- Lead discovery, migration design, automation, pilot migration, migration waves, cutover, validation, rollback, and stabilization activities
- Plan and execute GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organization migrations at enterprise scale
- Migrate repositories, workflows, runners, permissions, environments, variables, and secrets
- Support migration and reconfiguration of GitHub Actions and dependent CI/CD systems
- Migrate and validate GitHub Apps, webhooks, OAuth integrations, and OIDC configurations
- Build automation for migration activities using scripting and Infrastructure as Code
- Support AWS cloud infrastructure, Kubernetes/EKS, Jenkins, and associated platform integrations
- Troubleshoot migration issues and ensure platform stability during and after migration
- Collaborate with engineering teams to ensure successful migration execution and validation
What We're Looking For
Required:
- 7+ years in DevOps or Platform Engineering, with significant recent GitHub and CI/CD experience
- Strong hands-on experience with GitHub Enterprise and GitHub Organization administration
- Proven experience with GitHub repository migrations, preferably at enterprise scale
- Advanced hands-on experience with GitHub Actions
- Experience with GitHub runners and workflow migration/reconfiguration
- Experience with GitHub permissions, environments, variables, and secrets
- Experience with OIDC configuration
- Experience with GitHub Apps, webhooks, and OAuth integrations
- Strong experience with Terraform
- Experience with CI/CD architecture and migration
- Experience with Kubernetes, AWS EKS and AWS infrastructure
- Experience with Jenkins
- Strong scripting and automation experience using Python, Bash, or equivalent technologies
- Experience participating in full migration lifecycle activities from discovery through stabilization
Preferred:
- Experience with migration projects involving hundreds or thousands of repositories
- Experience with GitOps and FluxCD
- Experience with AWS CodeBuild
- Experience with Git submodules and complex repository dependencies
- Experience with SSO/identity migration and migration tooling
