DevTools Mechanical Design Engineer (100 % remote) (m/f/d)

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential technology venture backed by accomplished serial entrepreneurs. Our client is launching a greenfield initiative in the developer tools space and needs a mechanical design engineer who can operate with complete autonomy in a remote environment.

This is a true 0-to-1 role where you'll architect physical systems, drive product strategy, and build without layers of approval. You'll work directly with the founding team and report to the department leader.

Responsibilities

• Lead mechanical design and execution for core developer tools initiatives from concept through production
• Translate high-level product vision into concrete engineering roadmaps and drive rapid implementation
• Architect scalable mechanical solutions that support fast iteration and deployment cycles
• Own end-to-end delivery of critical hardware milestones that position the product for market validation
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams including software engineers, researchers, and commercial leads

What We're Looking For

• Based in Europe or the Americas (or open to remote arrangements in those regions)
• High-agency builder mindset with proven mechanical design expertise in hardware or developer tools
• Track record of taking extreme end-to-end ownership on technical projects
• Ability to move from prototype to production quickly without excessive process overhead
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills in English
• Comfortable working 100% remotely with a distributed team
