Senior Datenbankadministrator (Oracle & PostgreSQL)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential enterprise client in Munich seeking a Senior Database Administrator with deep Oracle and PostgreSQL expertise. This is a fully remote role with occasional presence in Nuremberg and/or Munich as agreed.

Your daily responsibilities include:

• Maintaining and supporting daily database operations for the enterprise environment
• Building, operating, and converting Oracle databases including RAC, CDB, and PDB architectures
• Ensuring high availability and analyzing and resolving production and performance issues
• Contributing to releases, projects, and regulatory initiatives including cloud migrations and proof-of-concept implementations
• Analyzing security vulnerabilities and implementing appropriate remediation measures
• Optimizing monitoring, backup, and recovery processes with regular testing schedules
• Advancing automation solutions using Shell, Ansible, and custom scripts
• Managing and controlling tickets and changes according to ITIL standards, including on-call rotation duties

What We're Looking For

• Extensive hands-on experience with Oracle and PostgreSQL database technologies, ideally supplemented by MSSQL, MongoDB, or Elasticsearch
• Strong proficiency in Shell and Ansible scripting, plus experience with Git version control
• Practical experience operating Oracle Exadata Cloud Customer environments
• Deep knowledge of ITIL processes and their application in operational contexts
• Proven track record in IT migration and cloud projects, as well as datacenter moves
• Strong technical understanding of IT infrastructure and data center services
• Structured, solution-oriented, and independent working style
• Excellent communication skills in both German and English
