Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is representing a confidential fintech organization in their search for a Senior Data Engineer to join their Data Access team. This is a high-impact role working on data infrastructure that powers product development, customer reporting, and business intelligence at a scaling organization.

You'll serve as a technical anchor for the data platform, driving architectural evolution toward AI-ready infrastructure while maintaining reliability and governance standards. This position offers significant ownership and the opportunity to shape how production data assets are built and maintained.

Responsibilities

• Define and maintain data governance standards including access controls, data lineage, and contracts between data producers and consumers
• Lead the technical direction and evolution of the data platform with focus on AI-first infrastructure design
• Design and build data architectures that serve both human analysts and AI systems, including support for unstructured data and AI tooling integration
• Own end-to-end design and development of scalable data pipelines using AWS, Terraform, Airflow, Snowflake, dbt, Meltano, and Python
• Drive platform reliability through performance optimization, data quality monitoring, and SLA-based prioritization of critical assets
• Champion AI-assisted development practices, including tools like Claude Code, to accelerate team velocity
• Mentor data engineers and analysts, raising technical standards across the team
• Build and scale pipelines from ingestion and orchestration through transformation and delivery to BI tools

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• 5+ years of experience as a Data Engineer with strong focus on production data pipelines and infrastructure
• Proven experience with AWS data services in production environments, including storage, compute, and pipeline tooling
• Hands-on experience managing cloud data warehouse technologies (Snowflake or equivalent), covering access control, performance tuning, and cost management
• Strong Python skills with ability to independently own and improve complex production pipelines
• Experience with workflow orchestration at scale using Airflow or equivalent tools
• Familiarity with data governance, observability, and data quality practices
• Experience with event sourcing or change data capture patterns
• Strong desire to leverage AI tools and workflow automation to improve team productivity

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience with data lakehouse architectures and open table formats such as Apache Iceberg or Delta Lake
• Production experience with dbt-core
• Experience building data infrastructure to support AI-driven data access, including governance frameworks for AI and quality monitoring of AI-generated outputs
• Background in fintech, financial services, or other highly regulated industries
