Senior Cost Manager – London

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential infrastructure client on a search for a Senior Cost Manager to join their team in London. This is a full-time, permanent position working on a nationally significant transport programme that is entering a pivotal phase of development.

Our talent team at Get A Job.ai is seeking an experienced cost professional who can drive commercial rigour and value across a complex major infrastructure delivery. You'll work in a hybrid model: three days per week in the London office and two days remote.

Responsibilities

• Support senior cost leadership in driving integrated cost control practices across civil works programmes
• Coach and guide team members within the cost discipline and collaborate with other project controls functions
• Maintain accurate cost forecasts and actuals within financial control systems
• Oversee monthly cost reporting cycles including ACWP, Earned Value Analysis, and Estimates at Completion
• Ensure all changes are reflected accurately within budgets and forecasts
• Review and integrate estimates from Tier 1 contractors and suppliers
• Conduct cost performance analysis and identify areas of risk or opportunity
• Ensure earned value techniques are correctly implemented across the programme
• Support the development and optimisation of cost reporting systems

What We're Looking For

Essential Requirements:

• Demonstrated leadership capability in cost or commercial functions
• Deep understanding of cost management methodologies and earned value analysis
• Strong grasp of engineering, procurement, and construction processes
• High-level analytical and numerical ability with attention to detail
• Experience with cost management tools such as EcoSys
• Familiarity with NEC or FIDIC contract frameworks
• Commercially astute with excellent interpersonal skills
• Degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Construction, Accounting or related discipline (or equivalent project experience)
• Proven track record in cost management within a major project environment
• Full right to work in the UK

Desirable:

• Chartered or equivalent professional status
• Familiarity with scheduling tools (Primavera P6) and risk management software
• Experience working on complex major infrastructure projects
• Ability to communicate and present financial insights to senior stakeholders
• Previous experience in nuclear or regulated infrastructure sectors
