Senior Content & Editorial Lead

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a Senior Content & Editorial Lead to define and elevate editorial standards across a global content team. In this role, you will:

• Set and enforce editorial standards across the content function, providing direct feedback that sharpens work and reduces revision cycles
• Review, edit and approve copy across campaigns, social media, CRM, retail and sales channels, ensuring brand consistency and commercial clarity
• Build and evolve the verbal identity system including tone of voice guidelines, messaging hierarchies, approved terminology and channel-specific guidance
• Partner with Design, Marketing, Product and regional teams to translate briefs into clear creative direction for internal writers and freelancers
• Brief, manage and quality-control freelance copywriters and external agencies to maintain brand integrity in outsourced work
• Evaluate AI writing tools and establish standards for responsible use, balancing efficiency with quality and brand distinctiveness

What We're Looking For

Our client needs someone who has demonstrably shaped editorial standards at scale. The ideal candidate will have:

• A portfolio demonstrating distinctive, commercially effective writing across brand, campaign and digital formats—not just competent execution
• Direct experience defining, documenting and enforcing a tone of voice across a complex organization, rather than simply contributing to existing guidelines
• Strong knowledge of content strategy beyond execution: building messaging hierarchies and editorial frameworks that others can follow
• Proven ability to give direct, constructive feedback that raises the standard of a team's output over time
• Comfort moving between strategic work (standards, systems) and hands-on execution when senior creative judgment is needed
• Experience working in an office-first environment in London
