Senior Cloud Consultant – Data & AI Engineer (f/m/d, 4-Days-Week), German Speaking

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AWS consulting partner seeking a Senior Cloud Consultant - Data & AI Engineer for their Hamburg office. This German-speaking role offers a unique 4-day work week structure and the opportunity to lead end-to-end cloud data and AI implementations for enterprise clients.

Our talent team is working exclusively with this organization to find an experienced cloud architect who can design scalable data platforms and generative AI solutions while mentoring junior engineers and contributing to pre-sales technical discussions.

Responsibilities

• Lead development and implementation of scalable AWS architectures for data platforms and generative AI/agentic AI solutions
• Ensure security, performance, reliability, and cost efficiency aligned with AWS Well-Architected framework
• Make architecture decisions, document trade-offs, and translate business requirements into measurable technical specifications
• Develop generative AI and agentic AI solutions on AWS Bedrock, utilizing frameworks for agent orchestration and runtime governance
• Build agent architectures with tool integrations, multi-step orchestration, and clearly defined scope boundaries
• Implement human-in-the-loop patterns including approval workflows and review automation
• Establish evaluation and quality assurance processes for LLM and agent systems
• Participate in technical pre-sales activities, project scoping, and statement of work development
• Serve as trusted technical advisor to clients, translating complex technology into clear business value
• Mentor junior colleagues and contribute to internal standards, best practices, and training programs

What We're Looking For

Must-Have Requirements:

• 5+ years in cloud, data, software, or ML engineering, including 2+ years with end-to-end architecture ownership
• Strong hands-on expertise with AWS services and infrastructure
• Solid experience in data engineering and ETL architectures
• Proven experience with generative AI and agentic AI projects
• Excellent Python programming skills
• Fluent German and professional English language abilities

Nice-to-Have Qualifications:

• AWS certifications
• Pre-sales or technical leadership experience
• Consulting background or client-facing project work
• Experience with AWS Connect
• Infrastructure as Code expertise (Terraform or similar)
• LLM customization, fine-tuning, and distillation experience
• MLOps experience including model deployment, monitoring, and lifecycle management
• Kafka or streaming technology experience
