(Senior) Accountant (w/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential fintech organization seeking a senior-level accountant to join their team in Hamburg. In this role, you will:

• Take ownership of core general ledger accounting activities, including provisions, payroll-related postings, and account reconciliations
• Actively participate in the preparation of monthly and annual financial statements under IFRS, with reconciliation to local GAAP standards for assigned group entities
• Collaborate closely with controlling, group reporting, and other finance teams (including subledgers, tax, treasury, and investor relations) as well as cross-functional stakeholders
• Drive continuous improvement and automation of accounting processes while ensuring compliance with accounting guidelines and internal control systems (ICS)
• Maintain and optimize relevant process documentation
• Support cross-departmental projects, particularly around the online platform and the introduction of new products or features
• Contribute to the quality of financial reporting through accurate and timely accounting, taking ownership of accounting matters within the general ledger team

What We're Looking For

• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in financial accounting or general ledger accounting
• Very strong proficiency in MS Excel and common accounting systems (MS Dynamics Business Central or MS Dynamics NAV is a plus)
• Independent, structured, and reliable working style with proactive communication skills
• Fluency in both German and English, written and spoken
• Additional certification as a certified accountant or comparable qualification is advantageous
• Experience with cash management software (e-banking treasury systems) is ideal
• Familiarity with FloQast or similar reporting/close management tools is a plus
