Forward Deployed Engineer

About This Opportunity

We are representing a confidential AI logistics technology company backed by top-tier European venture capital. Our client is building autonomous agent systems that are already in production with global logistics leaders across Europe and Asia. They need a Forward Deployed Engineer to work directly with customers, turning operational challenges into scalable technical solutions.

This is an early-stage, high-impact role where you'll bridge the gap between customer needs and product development while traveling to key accounts internationally.

Responsibilities

• Work on-site with logistics teams to understand workflows and translate operational pain points into clear system requirements
• Build and deploy AI-powered tools across the full stack using Node.js and TypeScript
• Design and implement integrations with enterprise systems including ERP platforms, transportation management systems, SFTP protocols, and event-driven architectures
• Develop robust data pipelines to handle complex, real-world logistics data
• Contribute directly to product strategy and technical architecture decisions alongside the founding team
• Travel to customer sites in Europe and Asia to support deployments and gather product insights

What We're Looking For

• Strong proficiency in TypeScript and Node.js; React experience is a plus
• Proven experience building APIs, external integrations, and working with enterprise data systems
• Ability to design and scale backend infrastructure in production environments
• Familiarity with cloud infrastructure tools such as Docker, Terraform, and platforms like GCP or AWS
• Comfortable working in early-stage environments with high ownership and accountability
• Excellent communication skills with both technical and non-technical stakeholders
• Willingness to travel regularly for customer engagements
• Bonus: experience with GenAI/LLM architectures including RAG, evaluation frameworks, or orchestration systems

Location: Berlin office preferred, with hybrid arrangements possible
