Security Engineer – Tech Lead (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential retail technology organization seeking a Security Engineer - Tech Lead based in Lille or Paris. This technical leadership role sits within the Security Engineering team, which is responsible for securing the application lifecycle from code through cloud deployment to internet exposure.

As Tech Lead, you will be the driving force of the team and a technical authority. Your primary responsibilities include:

• Challenge and guide the Security Engineering team on technical decisions and contribute to strategic security initiatives
• Lead daily team activities, define priorities, and allocate resources in alignment with the broader cyber roadmap and organizational strategy
• Manage projects across operational activities (RUN) and strategic initiatives (BUILD), tracking progress through Jira
• Document and share security best practices, serving as the reference point for other engineering teams
• Contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives beyond application security, including cloud security and internet-exposed asset management

What We're Looking For

The ideal candidate brings strong technical expertise combined with team leadership capabilities:

• Solid experience in software development, security tooling (SAST/SCA), SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP)
• Proficiency with security tools including Snyk, Wiz, and Cloudflare
• Deep understanding of authentication protocols (OAuth2.0, OIDC, SAML) and API management
• Experience with Infrastructure as Code using Terraform
• Proven track record in team leadership, work organization, and technical strategy definition
• Results-oriented approach with pragmatic risk management mindset
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with ability to solve complex problems
• Hands-on coding capabilities with ability to review and remediate code
• Strong technical communication skills to explain complex concepts to diverse audiences
• Fluency in English for effective collaboration with international teams
• French language skills required for this position in France
