Security Engineer – Tech Lead (f/m/d)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential retail technology organization seeking a Security Engineer - Tech Lead to join their Cybersecurity team in Paris. This role will serve as the technical driver and reference point for the Security Engineering team, focusing on securing the application lifecycle from code to cloud to internet exposure.

As Tech Lead, you will:

• Challenge and guide the Security Engineering team's technical choices while contributing to strategic security initiatives
• Lead daily team operations, define priorities, and allocate resources in alignment with the broader cyber roadmap
• Manage both operational (RUN) and strategic (BUILD) projects using Jira, ensuring timely execution of security activities
• Document and share security best practices, serving as the technical reference for cross-functional teams
• Contribute to broader cybersecurity initiatives beyond application security, including cloud security and internet-exposed asset management

What We're Looking For

Technical Stack Experience:

• Cloud platforms: AWS and GCP
• CI/CD pipelines with GitHub
• Security tooling for code (SAST/SCA solutions like Snyk), cloud (CNAPP platforms like Wiz), and exposure management (WAF, Cloudflare)
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform
• API Management and authentication protocols (SAML, OAuth2.0, OIDC)
• Collaboration tools: Slack, Jira, Confluence

Required Qualifications:

• Strong background in software development, application security (SAST/SCA), SDLC, CI/CD pipelines, containers, and cloud environments
• Proven experience leading teams, organizing work through project management tools, and defining technical strategy
• Results-oriented with a pragmatic, risk-management-focused approach
• Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to explain complex technical concepts clearly
• Hands-on coding ability to review and remediate code
• Fluent English for effective collaboration with international teams
• French language skills required for this Paris-based position
