You will work directly with pharmaceutical and biotechnology clients, spending time onsite in the Frankfurt Region to understand their scientific data challenges and architect scalable solutions. This role requires a unique blend of scientific knowledge, technical excellence, and the ability to translate complex requirements into production-ready systems.

Responsibilities

• Engage directly with client scientists and stakeholders onsite several days per week in the Frankfurt Region to build relationships and deeply understand scientific data requirements
• Design and implement extensible, reusable data models (tabular and JSON) that efficiently capture and organize scientific data for analytics and AI applications
• Develop Python-based parsers to extract and structure data from proprietary scientific instrument output files
• Integrate laboratory software systems (ELN/LIMS) via API connections to create unified data workflows
• Build data visualization applications and dashboards using Python frameworks such as Streamlit, Holoviews, and Plotly
• Collaborate with data scientists and applied AI engineers to develop and deploy models (ML, AI, statistical, hybrid) that drive scientific outcomes
• Prototype and implement end-to-end solutions in cloud environments, iterating rapidly based on user feedback
• Deliver regular demos and progress updates to technical and executive stakeholders
• Contribute to product roadmap planning by identifying customer pain points and improvement opportunities

What We're Looking For

Required Qualifications:

• PhD with 4+ years or Master's degree with 8+ years of industry experience in life sciences
• Extensive domain knowledge in one or more areas: drug discovery (target identification through lead optimization), preclinical development, chemistry/manufacturing/controls (CMC), or product quality testing
• Proven track record of defining, designing, prototyping, and implementing productized AI/ML-driven use cases in cloud environments
• Strong Python programming skills with experience developing parsers, data pipelines, and visualization applications
• Experience performing exploratory data analysis and workflow optimization to enable novel scientific outcomes
• Demonstrated ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams including product managers, software engineers, and scientific stakeholders
• Excellent communication and storytelling abilities, with experience presenting to audiences ranging from scientists to executives
• Business proficiency in German (C1 level) required
• Self-starter mentality with extreme ownership and ability to drive outcomes in ambiguous environments

Preferred Experience:

• Consulting or advisory experience supporting research, development, or quality testing initiatives
• Familiarity with AWS services and cloud-native data architectures
• Experience with scientific data platforms and integration frameworks
