About the Role
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated School Adjustment Counselor to support student social, emotional, and behavioral development across our district. This is a full-time position where you'll play a vital role in creating a safe, welcoming, and nurturing educational environment for our student population.
What You'll Do
- Provide individual and group counseling to students addressing academic, social, emotional, and behavioral concerns
- Conduct psychosocial assessments and develop intervention plans tailored to student needs
- Collaborate with teachers, administrators, and support staff to coordinate comprehensive student services
- Partner with families to understand student strengths and implement home-school strategies
- Participate in special education evaluations and 504 plan development and review
- Support crisis intervention and de-escalation when behavioral or emotional situations arise
- Advocate for inclusive practices that promote belonging and remove barriers to student success
What We're Looking For
- Massachusetts School Adjustment Counselor license or eligibility
- Master's degree in School Counseling, Clinical Mental Health Counseling, or related field
- Strong clinical skills in assessment, counseling, and case management
- Experience working with K-12 students in school or clinical settings
- Demonstrated commitment to collaboration, empathy, inclusivity, and integrity
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities with diverse stakeholders
- Ability to work with perseverance in a dynamic educational environment
