Sales System Engineer (VCSP)

Responsibilities

We are representing a confidential data resilience software company in their search for a Sales System Engineer based in London. In this role, you will work closely with field sales teams to evangelize enterprise backup and data protection solutions to partners, resellers, and end users. This position requires travel within the UK and Ireland up to 50% of the time.

Your day-to-day responsibilities will include:

• Engaging with end users and partners to establish and translate business objectives into technical requirements
• Creating content and delivering presentations and demonstrations to varying numbers and levels of decision makers, both virtually and in person
• Managing the technical evaluation stage of the sales process as the main technical advisor
• Providing pre-sales assistance to customers as they evaluate solutions, including POCs, hands-on labs, and bootcamps
• Recording and maintaining accurate customer and partner engagement activities in Salesforce CRM
• Working closely with value-added resellers on training, joint meetings, and relationship building
• Supporting lead generation activities such as events, webinars, and user groups
• Providing customer feedback to product development and engineering teams
• Participating in cross-functional strategic initiatives that increase efficiencies and add long-term value

What We're Looking For

Our talent team is seeking candidates with demonstrable experience in a pre-sales IT role. The ideal candidate will have:

• Prior experience using or deploying enterprise backup and data protection solutions
• Deep experience with virtualization technologies including VMware vSphere, Microsoft Hyper-V, and Nutanix AHV
• Knowledge of associated technologies such as SANs, hyper-converged storage, and networking
• Working knowledge of public clouds: Amazon AWS, Microsoft Azure, and Google Cloud Platform
• Working knowledge of key SaaS platforms such as Microsoft Office 365 and Salesforce
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Comfort presenting to groups, both remotely and in person
• Availability to travel across the UK and Ireland
• Self-starter mentality with the ability to learn new technologies quickly
• Comfort working in a fast-paced environment where roles and responsibilities change quickly

Advantageous: Relevant vendor certifications in backup and data protection platforms
