VWR is seeking a dedicated Safety Engineer to join our team in Paris, Kentucky. In this full-time position, you'll play a critical role in protecting our workforce and maintaining a culture of safety excellence across our operations.

About the Role

As a Safety Engineer at VWR, you'll develop, implement, and oversee safety programs designed to prevent workplace injuries and ensure regulatory compliance. This position offers the opportunity to make a meaningful impact on employee wellbeing while supporting our operational goals in a fast-paced environment. You'll serve as a resource for safety best practices, working cross-functionally with teams throughout the facility.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities

  • Conduct regular safety inspections and audits of work areas, equipment, and processes
  • Investigate workplace incidents and near-misses to identify root causes and prevent recurrence
  • Design and deliver safety training programs for new hires and ongoing employee development
  • Develop and maintain safety policies, procedures, and documentation to ensure OSHA and regulatory compliance
  • Identify potential hazards and recommend engineering or administrative controls
  • Monitor safety metrics, track key performance indicators, and prepare reports for management
  • Partner with department leads to promote safety awareness and continuous improvement

What We're Looking For

  • Bachelor's degree in Safety Science, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent professional experience
  • Professional safety certification (CSP, CSSP, CHST, or similar) is preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations and workplace safety standards
  • Demonstrated ability to conduct hazard assessments and implement risk mitigation strategies
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and safety management software
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with teams at all levels
  • Attention to detail and commitment to accuracy in safety documentation
